A Christ-centered approach to intentional living

Never give up

Ecclesiastes 11:1 holds a profound promise: “Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.”

This verse gently reminds us never to give up. It’s a call to remain faithful no matter what. While many days or even years may pass, we can trust Jesus to cultivate blessings and fruit in our lives and the lives of our loved ones, in due season.

Are you feeling discouraged sweet sister? Perhaps you have laboured faithfully in your home with your children, or in your church – ministering week in and week out….and you can’t seem to see the results you are yearning for.

Remain faithful. Cling to God’s promises. Sometimes the fruit will not be found in our lifetime, but we can be sure that we will reap in due season when we remain faithful today. We can be confident that nothing we do for the Lord is wasted.

Matthew Henry said: “Wheat, the most valuable grain, lies longest in the ground. Long voyages make the best returns.”

Keep trusting dear friend, keep remaining faithful to what God has called you to do.

…and let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

God bless you ❤️

The Prince of peace came

Peace is one of the most precious gifts that Jesus gives His children.

In John 14.27 Jesus said “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

So often the thing our souls long for the most is peace. A state of calm and quiet confidence….a heart that is settled and rooted in Christ…a heart that is fixed on a solid and unshakable foundation.

I have found that the more I spend time with Jesus and meditate on His Word, the more His peace flows through my heart and mind….and extends to those around me through my words and actions.

I’m so thankful that our Saviour, the Prince of peace, entered this world and our hearts to provide true peace.

If you’re feeling a little dry after the past few weeks of busy Christmas activities….perhaps a little tired or flat….I recommend that you soak in some scripture and allow your mind to focus on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous and praise-worthy, and God’s promise to you in Philippians 4 is that such eternal focus will reap peaceable fruits in your life.

The absence of peace in our lives leads us to feel anxious, afraid and riddled with doubt. But when God’s perfect peace comes into our life it sheds light into our thought processes and dark feelings are cast away.

Beautiful sister. Take the time to prepare your heart for 2024. Start the New Year with a foundation of peace in your heart and enjoy the gift Jesus came to earth to give you.

Is Jesus truly enough for you?

I strongly believe that we have become a generation of women suffering from the effects of discontentment in our hearts.

I want to encourage you to search within and ask yourself this question – is Jesus Christ really enough for me?

Examine your heart this Monday morning and explore all the hopes you have for this coming week – are you content before the week even begins….or are you relying on certain conditions to bring you satisfaction?

The most dangerous way we can kill contentment in our hearts is by comparing ourselves to others. The Bible says this is unwise and is the quickest way to bring discontentment in your life.

You want her body, her house, her car, her lifestyle…and the list goes on.

Are your eyes on those around you? Is the Devil bringing to your attention all those things you desire…and tempting you to covet and grow in discontentment?

Media and marketing channels are geared towards fuelling this downward slope in your life. To help you grow discontent so that you will desire their product or service. Be aware of the subtle wiles of the Devil who is roaming around you seeking to destroy your life.

I want to encourage you today to set aside time to meet with your Saviour and ask Him to pour into your heart His perfect peace. To help you keep your eyes on Him and find contentment in Him alone.

The truth is that only He can quench our souls with His living waters. Only He can heal our hurts and fill our longings with satisfaction.

Trust Him beautiful sister, He knows your name and holds you in the palm of His Hands. He wants to give you everything you need and more…turn to Him and watch how blessed you will be and how contentment will grow in your heart.

Hebrews 13.5 “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

Philippians 4:11-13 “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.”

1 Timothy 6:6 “But godliness with contentment is great gain.”

Psalm 23-1 “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

A gift from heaven

It’s with the greatest of joy that I share with you dear sisters that we are expecting our fourth child – a gift from heaven!

Our desire is for this precious child to grow up to deeply love Jesus and shine His light in this dark world.

I look forward to sharing my journey with you as I cherish each moment of this wonderful time in our lives.

Love & Blessings,
Linda ❤️

“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee.” Jeremiah 1:5

God is present

We were already struggling with overwhelm, and now this – a war. A destructive fight that has led to the most unimaginable atrocities known to mankind.

Watching the news reports daily and hearing the cries of innocent civilians is heartbreaking to say the least.

As we sit safely on the other side of our screens, we can’t help but feel overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of the need and the hopelessness of the situation.

And yet, God is present.

In the midst of this tragedy we can pray and we can know that God has not left the scene.

May we pray for all women, children and families who have been caught up in the sudden destruction of their worlds, may we personally turn to the Lord for His comfort and strength to respond in a godly way, a Biblical way – a way that points to Jesus.

At the end of the day let’s never forget….that all sides of this war need Jesus, and He alone is able to save the soul.

Hebrews 7.25 “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”

Trust Him Today

“Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, All ye that hope in the LORD” (Psalm 31:24).

On the most dreary of days you have access to true hope, courage and joy.

God’s promises are perfect and sure. Trust Him today dear sis, He will never forsake you!

Life is a gift

How often do we stop and praise God for the simple fact that we woke up in the morning in a comfortable bed and in a country where we are free and our needs are met.

The best cure for discontent is gratitude.

May we take the time today to thank God for the many gifts He gives us that we so often take for granted.

Let’s encourage our kids to count their many blessings and name them one by one…..and be filled with joy as they see what great things God has done.

Lots of love,
Linda ❤️

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

Place it at Jesus’ feet

You know that complex problem you’re facing today dear sis?

That one that keeps you up at night and is stealing your peace and joy.

Without God you can do nothing.

Place it at Jesus’ feet.

He has the perfect solution and enablement for you.

Abide in Him and enjoy the fruits that will follow.

God bless you ❤️

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing” (John 15:5).

Happy Father’s Day

Wishing all my dear sisters a beautiful Father’s Day today.

May you taste and see the goodness of your Heavenly Father, and honour the men God has placed in your life.

Whether it’s through your own father, a father-figure, your husband, godly men or beloved friends – may you have the opportunity to celebrate the wonderful role God has given men in the lives of future generations….to raise up men and women of honour who live for the glory of God.

Proverbs 20.7 “The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.”

“How deep the Father’s love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory”

Pluck out any weeds or strongholds

I went on my favourite local walk by the river this week and noticed the weeds by the rocky edge. It was almost comforting to see that my garden is not the only place where weeds continually surface.

It got me thinking…and praying 🙏

“Lord show me the weeds that have crept into my life and pluck them out. Help me to be more like You. Help me reject strongholds in my life that you want me to let go of.”

I wonder if this is a prayer you could consider whispering to the Lord.

Perhaps you have weeds in your heart that have crept in quietly and ever so gradually. Habits, desires or attitudes that do not please God.

Or perhaps there’s something that has a stronghold on you that is tugging at you and holding you back from fully surrendering to Jesus.

I encourage you to bring yourself before your Maker and ask Him to pluck out any weeds or strongholds….and help you fully surrender your heart and life to Him.

It’s amazing what the Lord shows me through His creation.

I highly recommend walking and talking with Jesus. You’ll be amazed at what He’ll whisper in your ear…if you give Him the time and space to do so.

God bless you 🙏
