I love a good finale. I pray you will enjoy today’s devotion as we arrive at the final quality of a faithful woman – loyalty.

Loyalty is about devotion – it’s something that reveals where your heart is and where your devotion lies. A

faithful woman is 100% wholeheartedly devoted to Jesus and it’s evident in her life. Her loyalty draws people to her as they see that she has a passion for Christ that is genuine and strong.

Loyalty is a quality found in all the great women of faith whom we read about in the Bible.

– Esther was willing to perish to obey God and protect His people.

– Rahab risked her life by hiding spies in her house to protect them from death and fight for God’s cause.

– Ruth remained with her mother in law Naomi, leaving her homeland to provide for them both in their most vulnerable time.

– Mary the mother of Jesus embraced her role as the one who would give birth to the Saviour – despite the danger and reputational risks it posed.

– Elizabeth worshipped Jesus and raised John the Baptist – whom Jesus called the greatest of all men.

– Mary anointed the feet of Jesus with precious ointment, wiped His feet with her hair and was willing to sacrifice her most precious possession.

These beautiful women each displayed loyalty to God in action!

Today we don’t often get placed in life or death situations – but are we willing to risk our comfort, our reputation, our physical desires – for the cause of Christ? True loyalty requires sacrifice.

Are you willing to allow some priorities or desires in your life to perish – in order to give the Lord the most loyal and prominent place in your life?

FINAL CHALLENGE:

– Take a few moments to allow the Lord to search your heart (Psalm 139: 23-24)

– Simply ask Him to help you grow in faithfulness and devotion to Him.

– Then watch Him do a special work in your heart and life.
