It’s hard to believe that my beautiful baby boy is already One! I can’t stop praising God for the amazing son He has blessed us with. We all adore Him to bits and have enjoyed every day of the past 12 months, as we’ve watched him grow to be one of the happiest and most charming little boys ever. He truly has completed our family ❤️
After some time away from social media I wanted to share with you some of the lessons I have learned over this wild and wonderful time of caring for four precious souls:
1. When life gets overwhelming: Pause, pray & plan to only do what’s absolutely essential (dinner, devotions & loads of love) – the rest can wait!
2. Always spend time with Jesus, no matter how stretched you feel. The Lord is your lifeline and anchor, you can’t do anything well without Him.
3. Every now and then ask yourself: What’s something I feel like doing today? It may be as simple as a cup of tea with a good book, it could be a walk around the block or a chat with your best friend. Once you think of something – make it happen. As mothers we often push aside our interests….but I’ve learned that it’s not healthy.
4. Communicate with your husband. Each week go through your schedules, discuss your main focuses and make decisions about practical things like meals, school runs, errands, supplies, commitments etc. You can avoid many issues and create peace at home when you’re clear on where you’re heading and how you plan to work together to get there.
5. Above all, pray. All day. All night. Make your prayers a continual conversation with Jesus. Tell Him how you feel. Tell Him what you desire. Speak to Him everywhere you go. And He will walk beside you. He will be present with you through all of life’s ups and downs – because He is good and kind and ever so faithful.
6. Remember your ‘why’: the reason you do everything you do each day.
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3:23-24).
Sending you all much love with these words. May you be filled with the love of Christ and find rest in His presence each day ❤️
